Founder

Laura Gisler is an attorney and artist working across disciplines at the intersections of innovation, intellectual property and activism.

Before founding Cloud Dream IP, she worked in private practice at aera in Copenhagen and led the IP department at Bang & Olufsen. Prior to her time in Copenhagen, she founded and scaled the IP presence at Polestar Cars, in advance of their IPO (listed on NASDAQ via SPAC merger at $20bil) . She moved to Sweden to work for Volvo Cars, with a focus on tech IP issues including open source, software licensing, and strategic portfolio development in digital automotive.

Though she started her legal career drafting and prosecuting patents at IBM focusing on AI/ML and quantum, she quickly found that in addition to the relationships she built with some brilliant stakeholders, the intellectual and emotional complexity of the problems that bridged business, legal and technology were the ones that kept her coming back to the office for more.

In parallel, she has spent decades as an environmental and animal activist, completing a Master's degree in bioethics before law school. She credits her practices in the visual arts, yoga asana and meditation for her ability to ground within chaos. She is currently based in her home state of Minnesota, United States, spending time improving her technical abilities as a student of classical realism oil painting at the Great Lakes Atelier of Fine Art.

Her vision in founding Cloud Dream IP is to elevate ideas and businesses that challenge the current systems or envision entirely new paradigms to redefine current approaches toward technology and the pursuit of the social ‘good’ which include an intersectional and environmental lens.
